Twenty-five points from Upper Lusatia
Herrnhut stars are closely connected with the Moravian Church. Their origins lie in its boarding schools in the early nineteenth century, where making stars also helped pupils understand geometry.
A typical star has 25 points: seventeen square-based and eight triangular-based points. Pieter Hendrik Verbeek later developed a construction that could be taken apart and reassembled.
The manufacturer offers different sizes and materials. Check the specific model’s instructions for indoor or outdoor use and the appropriate lighting equipment.
