A spiced craft from Pulsnitz
Pulsnitz is known as a gingerbread town, with a local craft tradition dating to 1558. Honey or syrup and a mixture of spices form the basis of many recipes.
Filled pieces, decorated hearts and other shapes show the variety produced by the town’s bakers. Individual businesses preserve their own recipes, and gingerbread is made beyond the Advent season.
The gingerbread museum displays historic tools, moulds and cutters and explains how the bake is made. Check current visits and practical activities with Pulsnitz’s tourist information office.
